I will be taking a mini hiatus from this blog for the next few months as I settle into my biggest project to date – motherhood. It’s been a long time coming for Mr B and I and we can’t wait to meet the lil’ guy (yes, it’s a boy!).

I hope you will bear with me as I make this transition and I promise to return with more things to share on all things design.

I leave you with this gorgeous make-up palette by Christopher Roussel for Mother’s Day. Opening like a pen, the pencil and brush are made entirely out of chocolate, the lipstick is white chocolate, the cream tube is filled with light chocolate soy milk spread and eye shadows are divided into crunchy praline . The box serves as candy slip of delicate sweets chocolates (ganache, fruit or spices, chocolates, milk chocolate or dark). Beats a regular box of chocolates any day.

Mr B & I recently bought one of these Willie’s Cacao mini block, which was quite delicious. Personally I like my chocolate really bitter and high in cacao content and although Willie’s Cacao contains about 72% cacao, it was still pretty good. The new range also includes milk and white chocolates. Good things do come in small packages.

Chocolates with Attitude by Bessermachen for Brandhouse consists of an outer box with 12 different small tin boxes with chocolates inside and a 50s style pin-up calendar girl. See the whole process here.

The first time I saw this, I was just blown away at how gorgeous these little jars look. Vancouver based designer Cindy Ng has totally revamped the packaging for Killarney Wood’s jams and with such delicious sounding flavours like Honey Jam, Red Velvet Jam, Strawberry Jam, Apple Cinnamon Jam and Lemon Jam, how can you go wrong?

New and interesting flavours of Crave Canyon popcorn created by Chef G., whose fascination with popcorn started with an undeniable love for the slightly salty and slightly sweet all-American classic kettlecorn. From Brazil to Italy, Chef G. has combed the globe for inspiration on a twist.

A pie pan for people who can’t decide what pie to make.

What do you get when you commission up-and-coming British illustrators to do 5 different drawing styles for Burnt Sugar fudge? You get artistically illustrated packaging down to the fonts, each with its own individual personality. Designed by d. studio.

Drinking tap water can be a pain sometimes…and the solution is Sapidus Crazy’O. Developed by Mary White, these substitute for syrup adds a fruity sweet touch to an ordinary drinking glass of water (yoghurt or salad too). Its pocket size means you can take it anywhere with you and 2 squirts is all it takes to take you from bland to tasty water. Crazy’O are 100% natural, sugar free and comes in flavours such as lemon, red fruit, mango, mint, peach and orange.

Over-sized cheese pencils in three different flavours – truffles, pesto and chilli. This was intended for people who counts calorie so just sharpen whatever you require during meal times. Designed by Kolle Rebbe.

Hermes is launching the Kelly Picnic bag and in paying homage to that iconic Kelly bag, they have put together bags made out of the food you’d need for a picnic. The new Kelly Picnic is made out of the familiar woven wicker of a traditional picnic basket, only topped with a barenia leather flap and Kelly closure for that special Hermes touch.
