I’ve never had one of these superhero costumes and secretly wishing I did. This “superhero in a box” costume cost US$22 for ages 3+ and it’s from Restoration Hardware. They also have plenty of stocking stuffer ideas for kids for this coming Christmas.
I think these would make wonderful gifts for Christmas, don’t you think? Available from Black + Blum from London.
There were so many highlights during my trip and one of them was getting a Oliver Jeffers book. Not that I couldn’t get it in Singapore; I guess I just never looked. I found his latest release, The Great Paper Caper at the store as well but decided to get The Incredible Book Eating Boy instead. It was the first illustration I saw in a design magazine Jeffers was featured in early last year and I knew I just had to get it. I’ve read it and yes, IT IS an amazing book. The storyline flowed flawlessly, the illustration was fantastic and I could tell every page of the book was planned and executed brilliantly. If you haven’t read any of his books, this is a good time as any to get your hands on one, even if you don’t have kids. You could even purchase a Japanese version on his site.
We are back from our vacation and while Mr B has gone off to work, I’m going to take the next few days to recover from 8 glorious days of eating, drinking and shopping. I look forward to our next holiday which I doubt will happen anytime soon.
We took this picture at Fremantle after a delicious fish and chips meal. The sun was scorching hot and as a result, we are now battling the aftermath of a bad sunburn.
Still the weather was breezy on most days and we totally enjoyed our trip. Oh how I dreaded coming back to this very humid and densely populated island.
Mr B & I are off for our much needed glorious holiday! thefunkyrooster will return on the 26th. Leaving you with awesome finds from PinkWolf.
Leo Kempf is a designer living in the mountains in Arkansas. Besides making creations like the Cardboard Table or the License Plate table, he makes this incredible house for his cat, Olive. Apparently the cat goes through the door, onto a ramp that leads him to the higher level where he could watch the world go by in a room with sheepskin rug and mini paintings on the wall. What a lucky little cat!
…you will like this chair. It’s the Bloody Comfortable Dexter Limited Edition Collection from Amy Lau Design.
Right on the trail of Burger King’s BK Stackers comes MacDonald’s Mega Mac (which is probably not new in other parts of the world). BK seems to be in the lead with its Ballsy Bk Quad Stacker consisting of 4 patties and 4 slices of cheese, topped with bacon. Who will win in this glutton war? Your guess is as good as mine.

A carpet that is a cross between repulsive and cuddly.
I love hanging lounge chairs. My brothers and I used to fight over whose turn it was to sit on when we were kids. Oh the memories. This one is made with 8000 cable ties.
And artificial plants that bloom when sprayed with water!
